Xpress Radio Scotland is currently staffed by a team of passionate and dedicated volunteers.

We are always on the lookout for talented individuals whether behind the mic or in the office, whether you're interested in radio, helping within the LGBTI+ community or simply have a few hours to spare each week and want something to do, we would love to hear from.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who may be interested in taking on any of the following roles (still in a voluntary capacity, I'm afraid). You will not be entirely left on your own to carry them out, and, depending on the role, could be divided between a few people, but it would be great if there are people who could take on the vast chunk of the respective role:

VOLUNTEER MANAGER:
Responding to volunteer requests by email and phone, meeting with potential volunteers to discuss their involvement and assess how they could fit in, guiding them through the initiation process (no, not the burning paper up the bum thing), keeping up-to-date records of all recruited volunteers.

SOUND EDITOR
Responsible for producing jingles, promos, beds, adverts and editing & downloading shows as podcasts, uploading pre-recorded shows to the streamer and editing interviews & reports for air. Will need to be someone with sound editing experience with access to the appropriate software or willing to come into the studio to use Cool Edit Pro.

ADVERTISING & SPONSORSHIP MANAGER & SALES PEOPLE
Approaching potential advertisers and sponsors, managing existing accounts and responding to all advertising and sponsorship enquiries. Although essentially a volunteer position, we can discuss the possibility of a commission package for each sale.

FUNDRAISING MANAGER
We are currently under-going conversion to a Community Interest Company. We are not a charity but still function as a primarily not-for-profit organisation and need to look at creative ways of raising funds including fundraising events, crowd-funding. The role will include exploring and applying for the various grants and corporate diversity funds that are available to us. Although essentially a volunteer position, we can discuss the possibility of a commission package.

OFFICE MANAGER & RECEPTIONIST(S)
Maintaining the office, keeping it clean, answering the phone, greeting guests and some administrative duties.

PR MANAGER
Responsible for promoting the station through social networks, contacting the press, putting together advertising/promotion campaigns. Ideally someone with some PR experience.

FINANCE MANAGER
Managing the accounts and maintaining the books. Experience is preferred and references will be needed due to the nature of the role.

EVENT MANAGER
Planning and creating events for the station. We have regular use of AXM nightclub so will need to think creatively about different nights that we could stage there, as well as liaising with venues across Scotland for the staging of ad hoc events throughout the year. Experience is preferred and although essentially a volunteer position, we can discuss the possibility of a commission package based on even ticket sales.

If you are interested, of know of anyone who, please drop me an email in the first instance to benedict@xpress.media .
